Spring has Sprung

I have had this coldy, fluey lurgy for about 2 and a half weeks and I finally gave in and went to the pharmacy where I was given antibiotics for Sinusitis. Which I was given directly by the pharmacist FYI – no trip to the doctors required which was brilliant.

As I was feeling better we wanted to make the most of the weekend and venture out, on Saturday my husband went off to the British Watchmakers Day at The Royal Horticultural Halls in London so Elliott and I decided to have our own adventure, seeing as for the first time in forever, the sun was shining and we could leave our house without a coat!

We grabbed some snacks, put a harness on the dog and walked the 25mins to our local train station where we jumped on the Victoria line, 5 stops to Epsom. Considering this was Lottie’s first time on a train she did really well, although she still can’t tackle stairs so I did find myself loaded up like a donkey, with a dog in my arms and also carrying Ells scooter so we could all make it down the steps in one piece. Elliott was also super well behaved and I often find myself just staring at him and in complete awe of him and I can’t believe how much I love him, he is one of my best friends. Sometimes I also look at him and want to run in the opposite direction but you know how it is.

After arriving in Epsom we walked to my mother in laws house and knocked for her so she could join us in a walk around the park. This all started because Elliott wanted a big enough walk for the woofer but with a path flat enough for him to ride his scooter on, and it turned out to be a lovely impromptu visit and a great positive engagement experience, for their rescue pup Suki. After a good walk around the park we went back to Nanny’s house and sat in the garden with a chilled glass of rosè, or two.

The sun on my face was exactly what I needed, I have been looking so pale and am ready to move on from my Wednesday Addams era and get some colour back in my cheeks, whether that be from the sun or my first glass of wine in 3 weeks.

Roll on the summer sun and garden antics.

Today (Sunday) I hung some washing out in the garden and then we loaded ourselves into the car and headed down to Devil’s Dyke. After some initial fuckery and not a single place to park, we dumped the defender on a grass verge and made our way on to the trail. All was going well with my pocket full of frankfurter – recall snacks – until an off the lead Lottie turned on deaf mode and launched herself on a poor family sitting in the sun enjoying a picnic. As the mum was shooing her away the defenseless child allowed the greedy pig to demolish a whole sausage roll. The little cow tried to go back for seconds as well. It was so embarrassing, thank god the family took it well, I would’ve been fuming if it was the other way around.

We need to sort out bootcamp for her. If only someone could come and take her away, train her and then drop her back.

“I can bear it no longer! Goblin King! Goblin King! Wherever you may be take this puppy of mine far away from me!”

She can be so sweet and spaniel like – totally obsessed with me – but she walks like a div on a lead and seemingly doesn’t give a fuck about other people’s picnics. Rude!

Hopefully the sun continues to shine and we can work on our shit dog being a little less shit.

xoxo
